If you had to think of the single best example of what the epitome is of exercise as a way to longevity, it would have to be Jack LaLanne. I can’t recall why, but his name came up in a conversation not too long ago, and I was taken aback by the fact that the man is still alive and kicking… at 95! And Jack isn’t just surviving, he looks as vital as when he was a young whipper snapper in his 70s. So what’s the secret? There may not be one simple answer. To most people in the last few decades o
A study by Stessman and colleagues from Hadassah Hebrew University in Jerusalem found that initiating physical activity over the age of 70 years leads to a 12% increase in longevity. This study was published in the September issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine. This study also found that physically active persons between 70 to 85 years not only were less likely to die, but also had increased function and less loneliness. In addition, the physically active considered themselves to be more h

By Amanda Boyd I'm sure you'll agree that most of a surfer's ability and skill comes down to their ability to balance and manoeuvre on their surfboard. One of the best ways to improve your balance and manoeuvrability is simply to work on your core strength. By building up your core muscles you will also benefit from longevity, improved posture, improved breathing, stamina and stability. I’m sure you’ll agree that most of a surfer’s ability and skill comes down to their ability to bal

Friends, why do you workout? Is it to look good? To feel good? To prevent disease and promote longevity? To lose weight? Maybe even maintain your current weight? All of these are valid reasons to exercise. The important thing is that we do not lose sight of what is really important, which is the QUALITY of life that is enhanced by being physically fit. That being said, many of you may wonder what exactly defines a “fit” person. Well, that definition may be a little different for each perso
When it comes to weight loss, these four brand names are probably the most recognizable. And they’ve got a few things many of today’s quick-fix diets don’t - longevity, reputation and results. We decided to take a look at Curves , Weight Watchers , Jenny Craig and NutriSystem side by side to see where they’re similar and where they aren’t. Each of these plans are uniquely different, and each deliver results in their own proven ways. Our comparison looks at six different areas: meal deliv

GoFit Push Up Bars

The GoFit Push-Up Bars are a great tool to develop your upper body strength. The muscle groups that are primarily used are the pectorals (chest) and triceps (back of arms). The GoFit Push-Up Bars allow for a greater range of motion, giving you better and more efficient development of these muscle groups.
User Ratings and Reviews
4 Stars Supportive, but a little slippery
I am using these with teh P90X program. They are good for the push up portion. I have pretty sensitive hands and they hurt a little since the cushioning isn’t very thick, but I expected that. They will slip on Hardwood floors, but I just put them on a Yoga mat and they work just fine.
5 Stars Great bars, great value
Great pushup bars at a reasonable price. They function as advertised. Although made of plastic, they feel supporting and are easy to grip.
4 Stars Not amazing but great for the price.
These are sorta crappy but work well and are great for the price. Perfect for someone under $140 lbs. If you’re a bigger person I would suggest and upgrade.
4 Stars Great & inexpensive
This is a great product for the price. They are simple and easy to use and work just as well as the fancier push-up gizmos.
4 Stars Light, study and good value for the $
I was happy with this purchase. I have only had them for about 2 weeks now, so I can’t comment on their longevity. These bars are made of plastic, but there is no issue with stability. I am 6′1″ and 185 lbs and these bars work great for me. They can be dis-assembled and packed for travel, if need be. I believe doing push-ups this way is much better than palms on the floor. This is a good product for the price, IMO.
